Well I did find out how peanuts are shelled in mass quantities. I always imagined this sweatshop where little old ladies spend their days shelling peanuts that come tumbling down an never-ending assembly line. Actually what happens is that peanuts are sorted by size (after being sifted for twigs, dirt, bugs, pieces of squirrel (not kidding), and other debris. The peanuts are then sent down conveyor belts where they pass between two rotating drums that smash the peanut shell (allowing the peanut to sneak through) and their blowing air discards any remaining peanut shell fragments before the peanuts themselves are packaged.
Breakfast: Stonyfield strawberry yogurt.
Lunch: Two handfuls of dried blueberries, two hard boiled eggs.
Dinner: Pasta shells stuffed with cheese and tomato sauce, olive oil. Several handfuls of dried raisins, blueberries and cranberries. Several handfuls of peanuts. I was hungry tonight.
Liquids: One coffee. One Propel. One bottle Zinfandel. Three Pilsner Urquells.
Walked 15,000 steps.
This morning, dog had massive case of diarrhea. Then took it for walk in Rich Forest in Groton. Came home and then went back to Rich Forest with wife for more walking.
It snowed for a good part of the day - couple of inches of fresh powder.
